Sylvia Lam
Director of Community Life
Sylvia serves as the Director of Community Life at Tapestry Richmond, where she is dedicated to fostering a welcoming environment that encourages attendees to feel a deep sense of belonging, involvement, and spiritual growth. She oversees the Tap Hospitality team and supports events that create opportunities for connection and learning about Christ, while also supporting team members in their discipleship journeys.
Born and raised in Vancouver, Sylvia discovered her passion for events during her high school and university years, which paved the way for a successful career in event management. She has experience in both the finance and catering & events industries, and most recently served as the Events Manager at UBC Sauder School of Business for 13 years. This role honed her organizational skills and attention to detail while allowing her to work with a diverse range of people.
Sylvia is blessed with two young children, and is married to Henry. Together, they enjoy exploring new cuisines, traveling, camping, hiking, and playing board games as a family. Sylvia also loves to cook for family and friends, believing that sharing a meal is the best way to connect and deepen relationships.
